Day 86 Sunday 10th September
Our
destination for today was going to be the town of Roma but we didn’t quite make
it even though it was only about 200kms away. We decided to stop off at a
lagoon for morning tea which was also a free-camp. After exploring the area while
drinking our coffee we decided that we should set up camp here and stay the
night. Judd’s Lagoon is a beautiful spot and there was plenty of water in the
lagoon despite the dry conditions in Queensland. Family groups came from nearby
towns for picnic lunches and a few of the young boys went in the lagoon
swimming. I thoroughly enjoyed my kayak despite it being quite short as the
lagoon is probably only about 1km from one end to the other. Before dinner we
spent time around a fire chatting to a lovely couple who were from Brisbane.
