Day 84 Friday 8th September
After some
car cleaning and shopping in the morning and following lunch, Rob headed off to
the Bundaberg Rum Distillery. He dropped me off at the hairdresser and then
went on a very interesting tour. We did this tour 23 years ago and I remembered
it as being very good then and obviously it was even better now. We met up a
few hours later and visited a market, drinking and eating spot on the river
called “River-fest”. We looked around, had a drink and then returned to the van
to change and head out to a pub for dinner.
Rob: The
Bundy Distillery was great, I even enjoyed the museum section of the tour. The
tour took in the molasses vats, fermentation, distilling and vat/keg storage.
But the best part was the testing of a couple of the lesser known products Bundaberg
product. Well worth the couple of hours. (PS, a hell of a lot better than
watching Helen getting a haircut and colour!!!)
