Day 52 Monday 7th August
Rob went out
again and helped Rick with the red-claw nets in the morning and Rob and I then
“processed” them when they came in. Luckily, there were not too many. Rick and
Kerry were heading into Mt Isa to stock up on supplies so they left soon after
Rick had got back in from the boat trip. We had a pretty lazy day around the
camp although Rob and I took Rick and Kerry’s dog, Beau, for a walk. We visited
the area on the other side of the dam wall which had a little creek running
from the dam wall. It was a very peaceful area and there were probably about a
dozen or so vans parked along the edge of the creek. I didn’t take the kayak
out as the wind did not die down but one of the other fellows camping with us
went out in it for a little while. We had another beautiful night around the
camp-fire complete with a moonlit dinner!
