Day 23 Sunday 9th July
We said our
goodbyes to Rick, Kerry and our new friends Jan, Rob, Davo and Lindy. They were
staying on at the wetlands for another night. We were headed for Longreach as
we have quite a few things that we want to see and do there. It was only a
short trip of about 140 kms. and so on the way we called into the lovely little
town of Ilfracombe. We spent over an hour there exploring the machinery and
heritage centre. The displays of the history were fantastic, spread over
several buildings and all open for the public to view free of charge. The town
also has a large, lovely warm community swimming pool and spas that again are
artesian fed. They are set in lovely gardens are available for everyone to use
and are also free of charge. We are now in the Longreach Caravan Park and it is
huge and nearly full. Hopefully tomorrow we will book into some of the interesting
things we want to do tomorrow.
